Cause and Effect - a simple formula for happiness
What you plant, is what you harvest.
Until some years ago, I was not really aware of how much the mechanism of cause and effect, this basic law of nature, is into play in our lives.
What it comes down to
Are you planting seeds of joy, kindness, gratitude, appreciation, love, care, compassion, contentment, ...?
Or rather seeds of stress, frustration, ego, jealousy, resentment, power, discontentment, anger, seeking happiness outside of yourself, ...?
It's definitely a mix for me but it’s such a powerful, simple truth: what you plant is what you harvest. You cannot plant lemon seeds all the time and expect sweet mango fruit. Focus on planting mango seeds if you want to have sweet mangos in the future.
Life is simple in its essence. The law of nature is always there. We sometimes forget, or at least I do. Of course that doesn't mean it's always easy to plant sweet mango seeds, especially when the world around us is driving us to individualism, status, always more / never enough, and superficial pleasures.
But you don't have to follow that pattern! You can focus on your own peace of mind, on kindness, on happiness, on compassion and lay a foundation for a happier, more fulfilling life.
And if you think that means you have to go live in a cave, there's good news:
You can integrate these traits and virtues in any life, also in our high-demanding society. Being a monk is cool and all but not the reality for most of us. But so everyone can develop these traits by planting more seeds that bring you peace of mind, joy or whatever you'd like more of.
Planting the right seeds also helps you to move into a place of grounded strength, and from this place, inspired action comes easily, carving out a path that makes you feel good about yourself and life.
If you are also seeking for a different way to go through life, with less tension and less effort, while performing and feeling better, drop a 👍 in the comments or book a connection call if you’d like to take it a step further through coaching.
For now, if it feels right, you can reflect on the following:
Are you aware of the seeds you are planting?
And is the balance in favor of what you’d like to experience more of?
When you start planting more sweet mango seeds, you will notice changes happening in your life.
You’re bound to become happier.
